Wise words from this hoop dancer that every hooper and every human can live by and relate to.
“Each and everyone one of us and it doesn’t matter who we are or where we come from, the color of our skin, are created equal in that scared hoop, that sacred circle of life. We all carry one hoop that holds our memories our goals our life achievement but our life doesn’t begin until we open our eyes and we see our family looking over us and our hoops begin to weave together and touching at various points. Every time we meet someone new as a child, a teenager an adult. Notice how all the hoops weave almost like a web. And they say when everything works together and everyone comes together, a very beautiful, sacred thing happens. We create the world we live in.”
I had no idea how much modern hoop dance is derived in the Native American form of hoop dance. Most forms of spinning have come down through a long tradition of ancient, tribal peoples so it doesn’t really surprise me, if anything, I want to use some of the native American style to influence my own work. This man is an amazing, amazing hoop dancer. If you liked the last Native American hoop dance video, you haven’t seen anything yet.
This needs more re-blogs.
